Project Outline

This was a one-week solo UX challenge. I worked on everything from research to a mid-fidelity prototype, focusing on solving problems for Karen, a freelancer managing her finances alone.

Executive Summary

To dive deeper into how I approached this, I first defined 3 key elements, based on the given information —persona, problem statement, and product usage (business requirements)...

Persona

Problem Statement

The user lacks confidence in managing her finances, being stuck with inefficient processes that make it time-consuming and difficult to manage her business. Despite receiving many client inquiries, she hesitates to accept new opportunities due to uncertainty about her cash flow.

Business Requirements

Creating an solution for Small to Medium Business (SMB) owners by:

  1. End-to-end process for payment receivables

  2. Send automatic reminders

So users don’t need to worry about overdue or follow-up invoices

  3. Provide basic insights into the user’s cashflow

So users are aware of finances before accepting any new project

Challenge

Since this project doesn’t have a product as a reference, I hypothesised it as a new financial management platform for Small to Medium Business (SMB) owners.
